29 Roadside Stations (Michi-no-Eki) in Ehime: Locations, Parking Spaces and Opening Hours

The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT) list shows 29 roadside stations in Ehime. This page groups them by area, with city or town, road, number of regular-car parking spaces, opening hours and 24-hour toilets, checked on the Bureau's station pages and each station's official page.

Summary

  • The MLIT list shows 29 roadside stations in Ehime, divided into 8 in Toyo, 6 in Chuyo and 15 in Nanyo.
  • The Bureau's station pages say the parking lot can be used 24 hours at 28 stations, all except Sadamisaki Peninsula Museum.
  • Regular-car parking counts differ between the Bureau, the national council and official pages at many stations, so the table lists the numbers side by side.
  • A toilet open 24 hours was written on the pages of 17 of the 29 stations.
  • The Shimanami Kaido islands (Hakata, Omishima, Oshima) have 4 stations, Yawatahama Port has Yawatahama Minatto, and Ikata Town has 2 stations.

Ehime Has 29 Roadside Stations

The MLIT list of roadside stations (“Michi-no-Eki”) gives the number registered nationwide like this.

「道の駅」は、令和8年9月4日現在で1,234駅が登録されており、駅名、登録回、登録年月、所在地の一覧は以下のとおりです。

Translation: “As of September 4, Reiwa 8 (2026), 1,234 ‘Michi-no-Eki’ stations are registered. The list below shows the station name, registration round, registration date and location.”

The Ehime rows of this list number 29 stations. The search result for Ehime on the website of the National Michi-no-Eki Council is also 29. The oldest registrations are Sadamisaki Peninsula Museum and Mine-topia Besshi (round 1, April 1993). The newest is Nakayama (round 49, April 2018).

The role of a station as a rest area is described on the “Roadside Stations in Shikoku” page of the Shikoku Regional Development Bureau.

休憩機能 ・24時間、無料で利用できる駐車場・トイレ

Translation: “Rest function: Parking lot and toilets that can be used free of charge, 24 hours a day”

Shops and restaurants have opening hours. The table lists the hours of the shops and restaurants. It also shows whether the station’s page mentions a toilet that is open 24 hours.

How to Read the Table

  • Area: This follows the division of cities and towns that each Ehime Prefecture regional office covers. Toyo is Imabari, Saijo, Niihama, Shikokuchuo and Kamijima. Chuyo is Matsuyama, Iyo, Toon, Kumakogen, Masaki and Tobe. Nanyo is Uwajima, Yawatahama, Ozu, Seiyo, Uchiko, Ikata, Matsuno, Kihoku and Ainan.
  • Road: The MLIT list does not give road names. The table gives the name of the road next to the station’s position in OpenStreetMap. These are names in the map data, so the signs on site come first.
  • Regular-car parking spaces: “Bureau” is the station page of the Shikoku Regional Development Bureau. “Council” is the station page of the National Michi-no-Eki Council. “Official” is the page of the station or its operating company. Official pages are listed only for the 15 stations that were checked. Numbers that are the same are combined into one. Numbers that differ are listed side by side.
  • How spaces for people with disabilities are counted: The Bureau’s pages count spaces for people with disabilities separately. For Yawatahama Minatto, the Bureau says 189 regular-car spaces and 5 spaces for people with disabilities, and the official page says “194 regular cars (including 5 for people with disabilities).” For Kazahaya no Sato Fuwari too, the Bureau says 178 spaces and 2 spaces for people with disabilities, and the official page says 180 (including 2 for people with disabilities). For these 2 stations, the difference in counting explains the gap. For the other stations, the pages do not show the reason for the differences.
  • Opening hours: These are mainly the hours on the Bureau’s station pages. Where the Council’s hours are different, both are listed with their sources. The original pages write times like “午前9時~午後5時.” The table uses the 24-hour clock. For stations where each shop has different hours, only the main facilities are listed.

Toyo (8 Stations): Niihama, Shikokuchuo, Saijo, Imabari

Four stations along the Shimanami Kaido (Hakata S.C. Park, Imabari Tatara Shimanami Park, Shimanami no Eki Mishima and Yoshiumi Ikiikikan) are in this area.

Stations Near Ports and Routes

Among the stations checked, 2 were written as being near a port. For Yawatahama Minatto, the official page says this.

このたび、四国の西の玄関である八幡浜港に、これまでにない規模の施設が誕生しました。

Translation: “A facility of a size not seen before has been born at Yawatahama Port, the western gateway to Shikoku.”

For Uwajima Kisaiya Hiroba, the overview on the official page says this.

Translation: “Michi-no-Eki Minato Oasis Uwajima Kisaiya Hiroba is a tourist exchange hub in the center of Uwajima City, Ehime (near Uwajima Port).”

None of the materials checked said that a station is near Matsuyama Kanko Port or Misaki Port.

The relation to the routes that have articles is as follows.

  • Shimanami Kaido (Imabari): The official page of Hakata S.C. Park gives the time from Hakata-jima IC like this.

    福山からしまなみ海道で伯方島ICまで車で約50分 今治からしまなみ海道で伯方島ICまで車で約30分 伯方島ICより車で約1分

Translation: “About 50 minutes by car from Fukuyama to Hakata-jima IC on the Shimanami Kaido. About 30 minutes by car from Imabari to Hakata-jima IC on the Shimanami Kaido. About 1 minute by car from Hakata-jima IC.”

The access section of the official page of Tatara Shimanami Park says “西瀬戸自動車道「大三島IC」を降りてすぐ” (right after leaving Omishima IC on the Nishiseto Expressway). Yoshiumi Ikiikikan is written as about 5 minutes by car from Oshima-minami IC, coming from the Ehime side. The road to the entrance is described in From Matsuyama Airport to Itoyama Park.

  • Yawatahama Port: Yawatahama Minatto is a facility at the port. The road from Yawatahama to Ozu is in From Yawatahama Port to Ozu Castle.

  • Tobe Town: Hirota is in Sotsu, Tobe Town, and the Bureau’s station page gives Matsuyama IC as the nearest IC. The road to Tobe Town is in From Matsuyama Airport to Tobe Town.

  • Sadamisaki Peninsula (Ikata Town): There are 2 stations, Sadamisaki Peninsula Museum and Ikata Kirarakan. The road to the lighthouse is in From Misaki Port to Sadamisaki Lighthouse.

  • Uwajima: There are 3 stations, Uwajima Kisaiya Hiroba, Tsushima Atsuta Onsen and Mima. The official page of Kisaiya Hiroba gives its location as “宇和島道路 宇和島朝日ICをおりてすぐ” (right after leaving Uwajima Asahi IC on the Uwajima Road).

Facilities Open Late for Arrivals at Night

Of the facilities in the table, those written as open until 19:00 or later are as follows.

  • Mine-topia Besshi: hot spring until 22:00
  • Tsushima Atsuta Onsen: bathing facility until 22:00, restaurant until 21:00
  • Yawatahama Minatto: Port Exchange Hall until 21:30

Whether the parking lot and toilet can be used 24 hours is written in the “24-hour toilet” part of the table.

Stations Where EV Chargers Were Written

The Shikoku Regional Development Bureau’s page “Stations with EV charging facilities” lists 21 stations in Ehime (Sadamisaki Peninsula Museum, Mine-topia Besshi, Hiyoshi Yumesanchi, Hirota, Futami, Uchiko Fresh Park Karari, Ikata Kirarakan, Imabari Yunoura Onsen, Niji no Mori Koen Matsuno, Hiromi Mori no Sankaku Boshi, Hakata S.C. Park, Shimanami no Eki Mishima, Seiryu no Sato Hijikawa, Kazahaya no Sato Fuwari, Mima, Oda no Sato Seseragi, Uwajima Kisaiya Hiroba, Kiri no Mori, Tsushima Atsuta Onsen, Tenku no Sato Sansan, Nakayama). This page does not give the number of chargers or their output, and it does not give an update date, so it is not known how current the information is. The only page that gave the number of chargers was the official page of Mima (1 unit).

  • Sadamisaki Peninsula Museum: The facilities column of the Bureau’s station page also has these words.

    トイレ/博物館/喫茶室/テナント(藍染め)/レストラン/特産物販売所/公園/EV急速充電器/ほか

Translation: “Toilet / museum / tea room / tenant (indigo dyeing) / restaurant / local products shop / park / EV quick charger / others”

The page of the same station on the National Michi-no-Eki Council’s website has a notice dated November 5, 2025 titled “EV用急速充電器使用再開について” (on resuming the use of the EV quick charger).

  • Mima: The facilities column of the official page has this line.

    EV自動車急速充電器(1台)

Translation: “EV quick charger (1 unit)”

The other 8 stations (Tatara Shimanami Park, Yoshiumi Ikiikikan, Komatsu Oasis, Mikawa, Yawatahama Minatto, Donburikan, Kinahaiya Shirokawa, Misho MIC) are not on this list. Not being on the list does not mean there is no charger.

The EV icons on the station pages do not match this list at some stations. Tatara Shimanami Park and Yoshiumi Ikiikikan have the icon but are not on the list. Shimanami no Eki Mishima is on the list but does not have the icon.

Examples of Numbers That Do Not Match

At some stations, the regular-car counts differ greatly between the Bureau, the Council and the official pages.

  • Uwajima Kisaiya Hiroba: 19 spaces for the Bureau, 223 for the Council, and 221 on the official overview page (including 5 large-vehicle spaces and 2 spaces for people with disabilities). The lower section of the same overview page also says “駐車場:228台” (parking lot: 228 spaces). The official overview page also says that the spaces available 24 hours are 20 regular-car spaces and 2 spaces for people with disabilities.
  • Tsushima Atsuta Onsen: 309 spaces for the Bureau, 100 for the Council. The official page was not checked.
  • Donburikan: 93 spaces for the Bureau, 41 for the Council.
  • Futami: 76 spaces for the Bureau, 160 for the Council.
  • Hiyoshi Yumesanchi: 74 spaces for the Bureau, 50 for the Council.
  • Kiri no Mori: 253 spaces for the Bureau, 145 for the Council.

The pages do not show which number is the current one. Please read the numbers in the table as a rough guide and follow the guidance on site.

The Date Checked, and What Could Not Be Checked

The numbers and opening hours in the table were checked on each page on October 13, 2026.

  • For all 29 stations, both the Bureau’s station page and the Council’s station page were checked.
  • The numbers of spaces or the opening hours could be read on an official page (the station’s or the operating company’s page) for 15 stations. For the other 14 stations, the official page was not checked, or it was checked but the numbers could not be read.
  • The roads are the road names in OpenStreetMap. At some stations, the name differs from other maps or from the signs.
  • Closing days and opening hours change with the season or with renovation. Kiri no Mori has the Shingu main store under renovation from September 29, 2026 to mid-March 2027 (planned). Before you leave, please check each station’s official page or notices.
